Welcome to my website. I provide organized motorcycle tours of the Alps.
Everyone who rides the Alps knows that it is Motorcycle
Heaven.
2009 is my 11th year of providing great tours
to great people. I had a lot of interest last year from experienced Alpine
riders in my "High Alps Extreme Touring Ultimate Challenge Tour,"
or "TOP 10+" for short so we will
do it again in 2009.
The idea is to have one super tour spread across four countries that
covers the TOP 10 highest passes in the Alps + 50 to 80 other passes along
the way, depending on how much of a glutton you are for altitude and switchbacks.
The TOP 10+ starts September 4, 2010 for
14 days.
If you want an adventure that is less intense there is the excellent
June tour "With A Swiss Flavor,"
which will start June 26, 2010 for 10 days with a focus on Switzerland
with side trips into Austria and Italy.

What you get is a great European adventure vacation, brand new motorcycles,
and the same quality hotels and fantastic roads as the big tour operators
but with a small, flexible group feeling at a tour-on-your-own price.
My motorcycle career first started in Europe more than thirty years ago.
I enjoy putting those years of experience to work for my tour guests so
that they can simply focus on the riding some of the best roads in the
world while enjoying a unique European vacation.
The tours are based out of Thun
Switzerland. We have access to a wide range of rental motorcycles including
an almost full line of BMW's, Honda's and Aprilia's. Our base is right
in the heart of some of the best riding there is and allows for a wide
variety of routes through the Swiss, Italian, French and Austrian Alps.
The idea behind MOTO-CHARLIE is simple. I call it the
guided "do-it-yourself" concept.
-
In exchange for a fixed
fee I guide every trip. I also make all the reservations
for the motorcycle and hotels. If you want, you can ride with me all
day. If you would rather do a self-guided tour and go on your own,
we can personalize a route for you at the start of each day. There
is a limit per tour of 10 motorcycles or 15 participants whichever
comes first. We focus on Austria, France, Italy, and Switzerland.
Although we usually ride in 2 or 3 countries per tour, we vary the
route and hotels each jaunt so that repeat visitors can appreciate
a different part of the Alps on each trip.
-
The "do-it-yourself"
part comes from the fact that you pay directly for the vehicle, the
hotels, the meals and other travel expenses. This way there is no
mark-up on motorcycles or hotels. You choose the size motorcycle you
want and pay no more, no less. If every night you want to have the
chef's special and the best bottle of wine from the cellar go ahead.
Or stay in your room and eat bread and cheese. It's your choice. Paying
directly allows you to control your cost while tailoring the travel
arrangements to your particular preference. You save $500 to $1,500
per person compared to the major tour companies.

I love the Alps. I love the roads, the mountain views, the food, the
culture, and the motorcycle friendly environment. The expression "It doesn't
get any better than this" must have originated on an alpine motorcycle
trip.
